Mya and Alex hung out today and Alex drug Mya around on the back of his bike. The went out to a local park, where the two rode the bike around for a while. Mya enjoyed her ride and kept playing with Alex’s hair and giving him hugs.
Mya took her Grandma Gonzalez to the mall today and showed her the kids play area and all of the kiddie rides. Grandma got Mya her first pair of Skechers, which have velcro straps that Mya quickly figured out. Later, Mya had dinner with her parents, Grandma and Laur.
Mya celebrated Easter with both sets of grandparents. Everyone enjoyed a nice brunch out together and then spent some time relaxing and playing with Mya, before heading to the park. Mya had a blast going up and down the slide. This kept her occupied for the majority of the time.
Feeling guilty about missing the actual hunt of easter eggs last week, the family (including both sets of grandparents) headed out to a local park for another egg hunt. The wait for the egg hunt was about 25 minutes, while the actual egg hunt lasted about 30 seconds. It is quite amazing how many parents with infants rush out to grab eggs for their kids and fail to give the walking toddlers a chance to pick any up. Mya did manage to pick up one egg by herself, but the place was quickly cleared out of all the eggs.
The entire family had some lunch together and hung out together for the rest of the day.
Mya went to visit the Easter bunny, which was an interesting experience. Mya seemed interested in him, right up until the point where she was actually in the bunny’s hands. She instantly began crying and screaming, so daddy was unable to get any pictures of her, not even one of her wailing.
Later, Mya got to decorate easter eggs with her parents. She wanted to dip the eggs in and out of the dye so quickly, that it was surprising that the dye did not end up all over the table. She decorated maybe a dozen eggs without too much of a mess.
Mya headed to one of the local parks today to hang out with her parents. She had her first carousal experience, which she was a little hesitant about. She was scoping out everything going on around her for a few minutes and eventually wanted off the horse until her dad sat with her. She got to walk through an old train car and watched people on paddle boats. Later, she enjoyed a snow cone that turned her lips blue.
Mya met with Cora today to attend an Easter egg hunt. Unfortunately, the egg hunt ended about five minutes after it began and there were so many people, that being a few minutes late left for an unlucky hunt. Mya did get to attend a magic show, slide down an inflatable with her dad and got to see the inside of a fire truck.
Today Mya got to hang out with Daddy in the afternoon. While she was playing, she hit her tooth that was getting ready to break through the gum and was bleeding for a little. She now has three teeth; this tooth is the left, top tooth.
Mya got to see the first ultrasound of her new sibling. She was temporarily mesmerized by the picture on the screen, but quickly lost interest. She spent the morning running errands to get her passport and to visit the pediatrician. Her weight today was 18 lbs. 8 oz. It seems she is finally starting to gain some weight. It must be her new obsession with hot dogs.
Mya attended the first birthday party of one of her friends, Lukas. Mya and Lukas go to a lot of activities together, so the two hang out a lot. The party was at Gymboree, so they got to bounce on the air log, play under the parachute, climb around on the obstacles and eat cake together.
