Mya enjoyed the day with her parents running around the mall while they shopped. She has become very adamant about the way she wants to eat recently. After numerous attempts to get Mya to eat her sub, her parents finally realized that the only way she will put the food in her mouth is if someone else puts the food on to the end of a fork and allows her to feed the fork to herself. She will not try to put the food on the fork herself, but will hand the fork back and wait until her food is served on the fork.
Later Mya headed over to watch roller derby. The building was very warm, so Mya and her dad stood in front of a huge fan to cool down. Mya was really trying to put her head into the wind and was enjoying the air in her face so much, that when a bystander made the comment to Scott “she is going to ride a motorcycle,” he was beaming in delight.

Mya celebrated Mother’s Day with her parents today, as they embarked on another adventurous day of shopping.

Each morning, Mya now has a tradition of coming out to the aquarium, while pointing and saying “fish.”

Mya was very excited for Gymboree class. As soon as her mom told her where they were going, Mya started running to the door screaming in excitement. Her energy did not seem to subside while they were at class either, but eventually wore Mya out on the way home.
Mya and her mom later headed down to the pool to go swimming. Although Kristin thought the water was a little cold, Mya showed no resistance and continued to splash and swim in the water. While they were swimming, a duck flew down and also splashed into the pool. Within the past week, Mya had learned “duck” and “quack quack,” so Mya instantly pointed at the duck, screaming “duck, quack quack.” She spoke of the duck the rest of the day.
After they got home and were relaxing, her mom kissed Mya’s nose. Mya quickly picked up on leaning in to give a kiss. Before she knew it, Mya was making kissing sounds and leaning in to give her mom kisses.
During this picture, Mya was screaming “cheese” for the camera and was so proud of herself for being able to stand up on her toy.

Mya had recently received a dog that played music and recited body parts from Mel. Mya loves the music and is constantly pushing the paw that plays songs. Today while she was playing the songs, she rocked back and forth and suddenly jumped off the couch, pointed to the dog and said “push.” Her mom played more music as Mya bounced her legs up and down to dance to the music. One thing is for sure, she loves music and surprisingly loves to dance (which are definitely skills she did not acquire from either of her parents.)

Mya has been signing the word “more” using her fingertips together rather than her hands. After playing with the ball popper today, she signed the word “more” correctly, said “ball” and then pointed to her ball popper.

Mya got up early to head to IHop for her NY tradition of visiting with some of her parents’ friends, Mel and Matt.
Afterwards, Mya joined quite a few family members to celebrate Great-Grandma Mildred’s surprise 90th birthday party. Mya had fun playing with everyone and running around the house saying “push.” The highly-energetic Mya then took her 3rd plane ride back home to NC.

Mya took another plane ride up to New York last night to visit some family. She spent the morning playing with Grandma and Grandpa Gonzalez and Great-Grandma Mildred. She was introduced to Grandma’s musical Mickey frame and quickly grew an attachment. The rest of the day she walked around saying “push,” so she could push the button to watch the scenario.
Later that evening, she headed out and had her first try at Indian food. She enjoyed the majority of the food and seemed to like some of the spicy food she tried.

Mya invited Alex over to join her in her kiddie pool. The two splashed and played for a while together, before heading off to check out the sprinkler.

Alex initially was a little unsure, but Mya’s eagerness to get wet invited him to join. Since Mya was at Grandma Glatfelter’s, she did not have any swim diapers, so her diapers kept quickly filling up as water seeped out over the top of her heavy load.

Mya got outside in the beautiful weather today and helped her mom wash her car. She particularly enjoyed getting underneath the spray of the hose and playing with the soap in the bucket.

She had a little trouble realizing when the blacktop was very hot under her feet, but was quickly relocated by her Great-Grandma Julius when this happened.

Mya spent the entire day with Alex today. Mya showed her unwillingness to share toys to Alex. She would take toys from him, throw them on the floor and try pulling his shirt to pull him away from the toys. They later met up with Bryce and his mom for some lunch and Mya was very insistant on feeding herself ice cream. The three kids then enjoyed some time at a local park. Unfortunately, Mya and Alex were unable to wander too far from each other, since Kristin was watching both of them. They both took a nap and during Alex’s nap, Mya took a ride on the tractor with Grandpa Glatfelter.

She also got to ride the family heirloom, a merry-go-round made by Mya’s great-great-great uncle.

Later, Alex showed Mya that he was no longer allowing her to push him around and began pulling her away from the toys. When Alex’s mom came to pick him up, everyone was quite exhausted and ready for bed.

After a few days of hanging out around the house, Mya went with her mom, her friend Alex and his mom to the Baltimore Zoo. The two got to see the giraffes, elephants, tigers, cheetahs, lions, zebras and many other wild animals. Within four hours, Mya was so exhausted that she fell asleep in her stroller, missing the polar bears and petting zoo. By the time they got back to the car, Mya was wide awake again.
