Mya’s First Holiday

March 23rd, 2008

Today was Easter – Mya’s first official holiday. Grandma & Grandpa Gonzalez, Great Aunt Barbara & Great-Grandma Rosenbaum came to visit. Grandma & Grandpa Glatfelter and Great-Grandma Julius then stopped by. Lots of pictures were taken before Mya, Kristin and Scott joined Grandma & Grandpa Glatfelter and Great-Grandma Julius for Easter dinner.

A Visit With the Easter Bunny

March 20th, 2008

As Easter approaches, so does Mya’s first holiday. Scott and Kristin took Mya to visit with the Easter bunny today. Mya is so small that you would barely recognize she was in the picture. She stayed awake the entire visit and did not cry once.

Baking with Mommy

March 19th, 2008

Today Kristin taught Mya how to bake a cake. Although Mya slept most of the time in her carrier as Kristin made the cake, she seemed to enjoy her quality time right next to mommy.

Tummy Time!

March 17th, 2008

Today was St. Patrick’s Day, which was Mya’s expected due date.

Mya had her first experience on her tummy mat today. She was a little unsure to the mat at first, but was lifting and turning her head for a few minutes before she got upset.

Mya made her first record for bedtime sleeping: 4-1/2 hrs. Kristin woke up and ran over to the crib to double-check that Mya was still breathing, because Mya usually wakes up every 2 hrs.

Sushi!!

March 16th, 2008

Today was Scott’s birthday and with that note, meant a trip for sushi. Although she slept through it, Mya had her first experience at the sushi restaurant when she went with mommy, daddy, Grandma & Grandpa Glatfelter and Laur.

Kelly, Kristine & Bryce also stopped by for a visit.

Look Mom! My Thumb!

March 15th, 2008

Last night Mya realized that she could suck her own thumb for comfort, rather than daddy’s. This made for a relatively nice night with intervals of sleep longer than 20 minutes.

Kelly stopped by for a visit today. She got to see Mya’s cool outfit in celebration of St. Patty’s Day:

Perusing the Streets

March 14th, 2008

Mya took it easy today and spent the day with mommy and daddy. The three of them, plus Laur and Chester, took a walk in the nice weather and relaxed most of the day.

Lesson of the day: If the baby is falling out the arm hole of the baby carrier, obviously the baby is still a bit small for daddy to use the baby carrier.

An Outing to the Great Outdoors

March 13th, 2008

Mya and Chester went for a walk today, since the weather was fairly decent. Mya also went out with Kristin, Scott & Laur for dinner.

Another lesson learned: even if you feed your baby 5 minutes before you leave to avoid hunger while out for a little, this is no guarantee the baby will not be hungry by the time you get to your destination 10 minutes later.

Birth Announcements

March 12th, 2008

Scott & Kristin were finally able to get around to getting pictures of Mya taken for her birth announcements, so with any luck, they will be in the mail shortly.

Mya got to run some errands with mommy and daddy today, at which point Scott and Kristin realized they have tiny cars. After you fit the car seat & stroller in the car (and that is if you maneuver the stroller just right so it fits in the trunk), there is no room for anything else.

Cluster-feeding (the need to be fed almost immediately after a prior feeding) has become popular for bedtime.
