Creeping Along.

October 24th, 2008

Today Mya was holding herself up to the coffee table, slowly creeping along. Once she saw the laptop, she quickly crept down to play with it.

Mya’s First Dairy Product.

October 21st, 2008

New foods: yogurt and macaroni & cheese. The yogurt is the first dairy product that she has been officially placed on, although she has recently tried cottage cheese. Yogurt seems to be Mya’s favorite food now, since she continually says “mmm” when eating it.

Independence.

October 20th, 2008

Mya enjoyed another story time at the local library, where she wanted nothing to do with sitting on her mom’s lap and crawled around visiting with the other babies.

New food of the day: cantaloupe.

Bike Ride.

October 19th, 2008

Mya took her first bike ride with her parents today. She has her own trailer attached to the back of Kristin’s bike. By the end of the bike ride, Mya was passed out cuddled under her blanket.

New food of the day: plums.

First Pony Ride. (Almost…)

October 18th, 2008

Today Mya went to the community fall fair. She got a chance to ride a pony, although did not enjoy the experience one bit. She visited with the clown and had a swan balloon made, which was continually moved directly to the mouth.

Later, she headed out to the park with her parents to play with her new friend, Cora. The two swang on the swing, used the slide and watched the ducks together.

New food of the day: plums. This is definitely a fruit that needs to be mixed up quite well in order for Mya to eat it.

Driving.

October 16th, 2008

Today Mya went shopping with her parents for a bike trailer. While she was out, she took a spin in an electric car. She seems to be a natural.

Fall Brings New Veggies.

October 15th, 2008

New food of the day: pumpkin. It did not initially go over so well, but Mya was more willing to eat it if mixed with fruits.

Mya also ate a biter biscuit today, which turned out to be so messy that she had to get a bath because a wet towel was just not getting the job done.

Library Storytime.

October 13th, 2008

Mya and her mom went to one of the local libraries today for the pre-walker storytime. She enjoyed music, dancing, and was read a book. There were almost 40 kids at the event, which Mya plans to start going to each week. At the end of storytime, the children were given toys and allowed free play together while the moms chatted. Mya showed off her crawling skills and her new ability to get into a sitting position by herself.

First Meat.

October 12th, 2008

Today Mya became a meat-eater, with her first food being chicken. She is quite hesitant about it, although might be a little more willing to eat chicken once it is mixed with some vegetables.

Jon Boat.

October 11th, 2008

Today Mya headed with her parents out to Lake Johnson, where they rent a Jon boat and enjoyed lunch on the lake for a few hours. Although the life vest had to be removed because it was so large, Mya really enjoyed getting some fresh air. She got to see a turtle and eventually fell asleep before they returned to shore.
